Trading skill increases when selling basic commodities to the market found at NPC stations. You receive a base amount of bonus credits depending on your trade skill level on any type of commodity. Trading skill can increase 1 in trading skill level chance every time you sell a quantity of at least 1 item higher than your skill level. For example: a player with a skill level of 10 would need to sell 11 or more to have a (1 in trading skill level) chance of gaining a higher level.
There is no top limit for character skills.
